Malloy is celebrating its 50th Anniversary in 2010.

When our founder, Jim Malloy, launched the company on July 18, 1960, Dwight Eisenhower was the president! Jim sold the company to Herb Upton in 1966, and Herb ran the business until a few years ago, when he handed the reins over to his two sons, Bill and Joe, and a dedicated team of printing professionals—230 strong! Mr. Malloy’s background was in book printing—the core of our business ever since. Our original customers were, for the most part, located within 150 miles of Ann Arbor. Today, Malloy prints hard and soft cover books for publishers of all sizes, in all segments of the publishing industry all across the United States. Over the course of our first fifty years, Malloy has printed more than one hundred thousand titles, hundreds of millions of books, and we’ve had the privilege of serving several thousand publishers. We still print for publishers who first began working with us in the 60’s. A lot has changed since the summer of 1960; but our core values—trust, honesty and reliability—continue to endure. We are planning a few special things to celebrate this milestone. In late July we are having a picnic celebration at the plant for current and past Malloy employees and their families. During the picnic we will “release” a commemorative book that chronicles our first half century in business. In addition to capturing our past through photographs, the title will contain thoughts and testimonials from many of the people who have contributed to our success.
